I've had a tough battle with depression twice this year...

I've discovered that being creative and productive really boosts my mood and gives me energy. I went back to work this week after 2 weeks stress leave, and I dove in. I do painting and help conserve paintings, and many, many other things in my job. I left work today feeling so satisfied with the number of projects I completed. It was like I'd never been depressed! I've even been creative writing when I can't sleep, wich is most nights...Maybe I'll have a book soon!

I know depression can rob me of the will and focus to do art, but if I do art I feel so much better...I wish the rest of life would go away for a while and just let me create and recharge my batteries and my passions...

Here's praying for a lotto win!!!

  • Mood: Relief
  • Listening to: hum of the computer
  • Watching: a video on metis embroidery

I want to start dyeing my quills, but none of the wild dyes are ready at this time of year (blood root, black walnut, etc). There are wild onions which would yield yellow I beieve, but I still need a hand full of other colours. What do you recommend for dyeing quills?
